The Advanced Cognos Developer, analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains business intelligence software for the organization's products. Develops, validates, and tests:
structures and user documentation. Accomplishes work without considerable direction. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Is passionate about crafting end user experiences that will provide user delight and allow users to identify trends & extract actionable insights from large amounts of information using sophisticated science and scalable engineering. Telecommuting may be permitted 1-2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report into work site in Kennesaw, Georgia. Responsibilities Establishes requirements for highly sophisticated software design projects and creates detailed functional and/or technical specifications. Architects and designs highly sophisticated and scalable software projects for data, reporting or analytics products. Finishes the phases of the projects. Follows through on all in-process and final inspection activities. Interacts extensively with company's product management, engineering & customer facing teams to provide business intelligence solutions Builds the design of database schemas and data pipelines to extract, transform, manipulate and load data in appropriate data stores to allow reporting & analysis of data while ensuring data integrity and quality Develops data models and reporting solutions for one or more enterprise software application products Drives code review of projects. Develops and applies technical and quality improvements. Ensures optimal performance of systems and solutions designed either by appropriate system configuration or optimization of system components or both Creates new programs, technologies and solutions based on novel or unique ideas. Ensures new insights and methodologies are documented for use by software teams. Uses status as a knowledge leader in software design and functional knowledge across multiple engineering fields and program management to provide technical leadership to a given program. Defines requirements for and may design sophisticated new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems. Exercises judgment (within broadly defined policies and practices) in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. May coordinate the activities of other personnel including geographically diverse global development team members Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines. Represent the organization as the principal customer contact and often performs project leadership. Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related Engineering / technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent work experience required Proven understanding of data warehousing concepts required Strong Structured Query Language (SQL) fundamentals required 8
years of work experience required 6
years of Cognos BI / Cognos Analytics Report Development experience required 4
years of Cognos BI / Cognos Analytics Framework Manager Modeling experience required Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS & Javascript required
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Software DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
