Position Overview As a member of the Global Can Technology team, you will work on the Process of the Future for hot mill innovation of beverage cans. The Co-Op will work closely with engineers and scientists to carry out the key investigation which will be critical for a new innovative hot mill operation process development. The incumbent will gain familiarity with state-of-art analytical techniques, lab scale simulations for aluminum alloys mainly used in the beverage can industry. Apply today! Responsibilities & Qualifications Responsibilities Demonstrate personal commitment to safety by following Novelis safety rules and equipment operating processes. Overall accountability for ensuring safety as the #1 priority. Co-op student will carry out various lab experiments to duplicate the groundbreaking hot mill processes and to exhibit the detailed metallurgical impact on hot band microstructure and final product performance. Co-op student can also collaborate with modeling group to use the experimental data as an input to update the existing can modeling tools. Qualifications Materials science major, seniors in bachelor's degree, or master's degree Basic understanding of aluminum metallurgy Optical microscopy (OM) operation experiences Hands-on experiences on metallography and sample preparation Excellent problem solving, communication and presentation skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel Knowledge of crystallographic texture and analytics (preferred) Gleeble knowledge and experiences (preferred) X-ray diffractometer, SEM or EBSD knowledge and experiences (preferred) Advanced analytical skills such as Minitab, Origin, Python (preferred)
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
DevOps & Site ReliabilityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
