Innovation Portfolio Manager

Position Overview Reporting to the Director, Innovation Strategy, the Portfolio Manager is responsible for resource management and stage-gate execution within Novelis' Global Research & Development organization. By guiding the allocation of resources and structure of the portfolio, this position supports the execution of R&D projects aiming to increase the value from our overall portfolio. The Innovation Portfolio Manager will, in coordination with the Director, Portfolio Management, manage portfolio priorities to oversee the resource allocation and compliance with the gate processes. In collaboration with the portfolio leaders within Global R&D, the incumbent will balance the allocation of resources across short, mid and long-term time horizons, varying innovation risk profiles, speed of innovation vs. depth, market opportunities and sustainability targets. Responsibilities & Qualifications Responsibilities Manage execution of the R&D Portfolio through Accolade, the Project Management (PPM) solution Measure and align to various portfolio management objectives, including prioritization, resource allocation, innovation balance and gate review velocity Coordinate and facilitate Stage Gate Process meetings Provide leadership in analyzing, diagnosing, and recommending corrective action for project and portfolio management challenges Ensure successful planning and execution of innovation initiatives meeting milestone measurements, performance specifications, production costs, development budget, and goal scheduling Ensure prioritization of projects to deliver the greatest return on resources (employee time, capital, etc) spent, including coordination of the CVI and sustainability impact assessments Involvement in development and management of new ideation platform Partner to coordinate yearly operational and capital expense budget(s) associated with the innovation portfolio (internal and external) Report on the R&D portfolio, working closely with portfolio leaders to align resourcing and track execution against multiple metrics Coordinate with numerous external groups to continuously work to benchmark innovation at Novelis Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science or related field 8
years of experience in portfolio management and/or managing multiple product development phases Experience in marketing/strategy Ability to present and communicate information to senior leadership Experience in planning and resource management in a global organization or business unit Experience managing state gate review processes a plus Data analysis and financial analysis skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple groups or teams Communication skills and an understanding of change management principles Ability to influence outcomes in global and matrixed organizations Strong business and financial acumen Working knowledge of R&D and innovation best practices and markets a plus Adept in the use of PPM solutions/tools Proven ability to effectively operate in a highly complex environment and deliver quality results
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Business Project ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
