At Northpoint, our Field Service Technicians work closely with the Project Manager to diagnose and repair roof leaks and other complex roofing problems such as faulty roofing materials, water damage, incorrect roof flashing and poor installation found in diverse types of roofing coverings and roofing designs.
The Field Service Technician is an experienced roofing professional who is physically fit with firsthand experience with all roofing systems including asphalt shingles, metal, slate, modified bitumen, EPDM, TPO, PVC and BUR.
Repair residential and commercial roofs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety requirements in any type of weather; ensure quality craftmanship.
Repair rain gutters, downspouts, and heat tapes, etc.
Performs essential roofing job activities:
heavy lifting (50 lbs.
), twisting, bending, use of both hands and arms, kneeling, squatting, standing and/or walking for extended periods, and climbing ladders and/or scaffolding.
Communicate articulately (written and oral) to develop rapport with existing and potential customers.
Interact with homeowners to identify, locate, document, and advise on roof system deficiencies and issues.
Conduct inspections and provide a complete scope of work for potential repairs and/or replacements.
Prepare material and time cost estimates and order parts and materials.
Unload materials and clean roof and job site after job is complete.
Meet or exceed weekly sales targets.
Requirements At least 5 years of experience working on roofs and handling power tools.
Ability to travel; must have a valid driver's license.
Physically capable of handling all aspects of roof repairs.
Familiarity with building codes, laws, and regulations.
Ability to quickly define the scope of the project and properly estimate materials and costs.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Familiarity with tablets, Apple iPads (iPadOS).
Highschool diploma or equivalent.
Roofing installation certification preferred.
Self-driven, dependable, and a collaborator.
