Patient Service Representative Team Lead - Kennestone/Bells Ferry

The Patient Service Representative Team Lead is responsible for the efficient front-office operation byensuring front-office staff comply with established Company policies and procedures and health andsafety regulatory standards to provide prospective and returning patients with a positive patient careexperience.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESoGuides and trains front-office staff in performing operational tasks to ensure a positivepatient care experience and assigns tasks to ensure front-office operations are performedtimely, efficiently and accurately.
oEnsures front-office staff greet and provide information and instructions to all patients andvisitors in a polite and professional manner.
oEnsures WellStreet Urgent Care & OccMed reception area are in a state of readiness,including clean and neat, to receive patients and visitors.
oPossesses comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA and other standard healthcareregulatory requirements and ensures compliance by monitoring adherence to establishedpolicies and procedures, correcting minor lapses or failures, or escalating critical issues toPractice Manager for handling.
oReviews patient insurance eligibility and coverage and relays relevant information regardingpayment policies and billing/collection processes.
oEnsures medical treatment and services provided are accurately coded for insurance billing;collects patient copays or payment for medical services rendered and ensures balanced cashdrawer at close of day.
Provides information to Revenue Cycle Management staff as needed.
oSupports Practice Manager and Providers in daily operation of Center.
oCollects and maintains all patient and business documents while maintaining confidentialityoPerform office procedures including all general administrative duties.
oDocument Electronic Medical Record (EMR) all medical interventions.
oTravels to any WellStreet location to support the staff.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSoHigh school diploma or equivalent.
oMust have at least three (3) years of experience in a medical office or emergency roomsetting.
oUrgent care experience preferred, but not required.
oAbility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
oExperience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination.
oCertification & experience as a medical assistant a plus, but not required.
oProficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) software applicationsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSoOccasionally required to sit, walk, reach with hands and arms.
oFinger dexterity and hand coordination required.
oOccasionally required to lift moderate weights (20-40 pounds)oSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust orfocus Recommended Skills Billing Confidentiality Courtesy Finger Dexterity General Administrative Support Office Procedures Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
