Sr. Analyst - Strategic Risk

The Sr. Analyst within the Strategic Risk and Data team is responsible for initiating and executing analytic based projects and tasks that drive business improvement. Examples of analytic based projects can range from undertaking a test with a new data vendor to determine value of their data to us to analyzing existing customer behavior and identifying ways to lower credit risk. This role is part of the Strategic Risk, Data and Process Excellence team within CAN Capital.
What You'll Be Doing Day To Day:
Strategic Thinking: With an understanding of our business challenges, work to define and layout the goals of the analysis or the hypothesis that you are attempting to solve for. Ability to infer from incomplete data and use reasonable judgment to draw logical conclusions thus moving with speed.
Securing Buy In and Alignment: Partner with business leaders and key stakeholders in the decision making process to fully understand business drivers and issues to deliver on their strategy. Work collaboratively with various departments across our company to execute analytical initiatives in the most effective manner.
Data Extraction, Testing, Loading and Analyzing: This is where you will spend over 60% of your time - this will include everything from developing SQL queries for data extraction, parsing and loading to building predictive models to improve performance.
Delivering Results: Translate analytical outcomes to actionable recommendations that drive business outcomes.
Experience & Education you must have for us to consider you:
Degree: Undergraduate degree in Math, Statistics or Engineering
Blend of technology and business background: You have a solid and deep understanding of SQL, SAS (Base as well as Enterprise Miner) and MS Excel. You also may know Python or Java.
5+ years of direct experience involving data analysis (not to be confused with solely reporting).
Modeling Experience: You have built Logistic regression models in the fintech or financial services field.
Experience in emerging technologies be it software like R or analytical applications like Tableau.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
