A member of the central engineering team in the Operations Services Group based in Kennesaw, GA.
As a central engineering process engineer use engineering principles and Clorox Early Management tools to design and improve Clorox manufacturing processes that involve the mixing, conversion, or reaction of raw materials through various unit operations into finished products. Frequently part of multi-functional teams providing chemical/process engineering functional expertise for project design, construction, commissioning, and start-up. Using Clorox engineering standards and processes, develop project scope of work and cost estimates related to process systems. With the assistance of others defines, manages, and critically reviews work products from outside engineering firms to provide detailed process engineering work for projects. May perform functions of capital project manager which includes responsibility for defining overall project scope, cost, obtaining AFE approval, procurement and construction management. Must be capable of working across different technologies across multiple business units. Frequently will manage projects or participate on project teams across multiple locations simultaneously.
Position requires approximately 50% travel.
Key
Responsibilities:
Process engineering resource for capital project teams
Provide process engineering feasibility analysis for potential projects or process improvements
Lead miscellaneous engineering or administrative projects / tasks
Provide process technical support to manufacturing operations
Revenue Responsibility: Develops expense and capital budgets for projects. Cost estimates are reviewed by others before being used for decision making. Must manage scope, actual spending, commitments, and anticipated future spending within approved budget. Typical project budgets will be less than $1M.
Other Scope Factors: Assignments emphasize the integration of knowledge in the process engineering discipline into multi-discipline design projects and/or as a consultant to manufacturing. Depending on areas of expertise and demonstrated capability may consult with manager or higher level process engineers to verify accuracy and completeness of technical approach before finalizing process design, decision making, or implementation. Plans and leads medium size projects that include the integration of outside technical resources. Provides training in areas of expertise.

Experience:
5 years professional experience in a progression of assignments developing increasing expertise in engineering discipline.
Experience should also include 2 years of manufacturing or plant experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Must have good chemical engineering capability related to use of principles of mass and energy balances and application of engineering principles against common unit operations.
Should have experience with both batch and continuous manufacturing processes.
Must have experience working in regulated or healthcare industries.
Must have good written, listening, and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with various levels of organization.
Must have the ability to effectively organize and lead meetings.
Must be able to operate effectively in cross-functional teams.
Must have ability to plan and organize work independently and work with minimum supervision.
Must have the ability to lead small informal and formal teams.
Must demonstrate attention to detail.
Education Level/Degree:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or other engineering discipline coupled with significant work experience in process engineering.
