The Foods Quality Auditor in the Corporate Quality Assurance (CQA) Department is responsible for conducting Quality System Assessments/Audits for Clorox facilities, suppliers, and co-packers for our Foods Business, verifying that adequate food safety and quality programs and protocols are in place. Additionally, this role is responsible for establishing and maintaining an audit/assessment schedule, following up on corrective action/ preventative actions identified during the audits/assessments, and capturing and communicating results to key stakeholders. The Foods Quality Auditor will leverage third parties to assess suppliers and co-packers where appropriate on behalf of Clorox. This role works closely with the Operations Compliance Manager to close gaps which are identified in plant audits and to improve the audit program, systems, and tools to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. The Foods Quality Auditor will work with internal and external plant personnel to identify audit/assessment gaps and recommend appropriate solutions. This role will provide support to other business units on an as needed basis.
Key
Responsibilities:
Conduct Quality System Assessments/Audits of Clorox manufacturing facilities, suppliers and co-packers in Foods. Maintain an audit schedule and ensure all assessment/audit documentation is accurately completed, results communicated, and filed properly in the document management system.
Follow up on corrective actions/preventative actions identified during the audits, identify and provide solutions to system/process outages, and provide implementation support as required.
Identify gaps and outages in our operations Quality Systems, processes, and tools and communicate those outages to leadership. Ensure that our Assessment/Audit program is robust and collaborate with the Compliance Manager to continuously improve the process.
Maintain database of qualified suppliers, co-packers, and qualified 3rd party auditors. Coordinate 3rd party audit schedules. Provide training, coaching, and education to Clorox personnel as needed.
Qualifications:
Years and Type of
Experience:
6-8 years of experience in Food Quality Systems Auditing. Experience in food manufacturing production operations, sanitation, HACCP (HARPC), and microbiology.
Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of HACCP (HARPC), cGMP's, food quality system, sanitation, & microbiology testing requirements.
Demonstrated understanding of food safety, food quality systems, change control systems, validation protocols, CAPA/CAR systems, and manufacturing processes and technologies including statistical process control.
Working knowledge of quality auditing schemes such as cGMP, GFSI, SQF, BRC, ISO 22000, other benchmarked schemes, and government regulatory compliance.
GFSI recognized Auditing certification
Ability to understand the appropriate inspection criteria and level of rigor based on risk, to determine degree of compliance with necessary requirements.
Strong problem-solving, issue resolution, and root cause analysis skills
Proficiency in documentation and computing, including report generation, database maintenance, and resource tracking.
Dressings, sauces, and acid foods experience a plus
Strong independent leadership skills. Will be required to travel independently to worldwide sites.
Strong interpersonal skills. Proven strong relationship skills to build sustainable partnerships and collaboration, both internally and externally.
Excellent organization and project management skills
Strong written and verbal business communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate the results of audits and assessments to multiple levels of the company, both internally and externally.
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time. Must possess a valid driver's license and passport or be willing to obtain one.
Education Level/Degree:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a combination of education/industry experience indicating an ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position
