Human Resources Coordinator (entry-level)

GENERAL
Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Division and Region HR teams.
In addition, the role will support company policies and procedures and manage employment files and data throughout all stages of the employment life cycle, by ensuring data integrity, as well as administer various other HR related programs within the South Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Act as a subject matter expert by answering routine inquiries regarding HR and Company policies and procedures.
Create and maintain all aspects of the company's personnel and payroll records for all employees.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files in accordance to federal, state and local laws.
Work closely with and assist the Human Resources Director (HRD) and hiring managers to coordinate recruiting, hiring and the on-boarding of new hires.
Provide recruiting support to include processing background checks, drug screens, offer letters and other confidential documents within compliance.
Assist in the on-boarding process by preparing new hire binders and collecting, following-up and recording all new hire paperwork in tracking tool when received.
Work closely with Payroll in processing all new hires, terminations and personnel changes in HRMS, accurately and in a timely manner.
Act as a back-up to the Human Resources Generalist on recruiting and/or leave administration.
Respond to employment verifications and provide general administrative support for HR department.
Manage Tuition Assistance program by reviewing required paperwork, tracking courses, submitting paperwork for approval and payment; as well as maintaining University partnership.
Oversee the administration of service award and employee recognition programs and activities.
Assist HRD in conducting new associate orientations, benefit meetings and training on processes and systems (such as Taleo, Sterling, Kronos, eFileCabinet, etc.
Process e-Verify and maintain I-9 records in accordance to the Department of Homeland Security regulations.
Distribute department mail and code invoices accordingly.
Compile monthly staffing reports for the DOT and Accounting Department.
Administer and monitor monthly random drug testing program for assigned Regions (i.
e.
notifying field management and monitoring completion).
Prepare termination letters and exit interviews to send to former Airgas associates within the South Division.
Identify opportunities for process improvement across HRC function and understand the full process to identify ways to eliminate waste or quality defects.
Assist HRD with designing more efficient and effective process for HRC and internal customers who interface with processes.
Assist HRD and/or VPHR with special projects, as needed and performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field a plus.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a HR administrative roleBasic understanding of employment law, leave of absence and complianceProficient experience in ADP Enterprise Version 5 and ADP ReportingProficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
